Paddy Power to partner Shamrock Rovers
Leading bookmaker Paddy Power has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Irish soccer side Shamrock Rovers.
The Dublin firm becomes the official betting partner of the Ireland Premier Division outfit. The Paddy Power logo will adorn the sleeves of the Rovers first-team shirts and pitch-side boards at their Tallaght Stadium.
Neither the financial terms nor the duration of the contract have been released.
“We are delighted to have signed a partnership with Shamrock Rovers,” said Paddy Power, director of communications for Paddy Power. “The Hoops are one of Ireland’s most famous sporting teams and we very much look forward to working with the club to offer its incredible fans unique content and experiences.”
Brendan Murray, chief executive of Shamrock Rovers, added: “Our partnership with Paddy Power will bring innovative content and marketing initiatives to our fans and we look forward to developing a strong relationship with them.”
Shamrock Rovers are Ireland’s most successful soccer club, winning the League of Ireland title a record 17 times and the knock-out FAI Cup a record 24 times. However, the Stephen Bradley-managed team are currently seventh in Ireland’s top flight, 15 points adrift of league leaders Cork City.
