Premier League: Arsenal's Jack Wilshire caught up in 2am street brawl
Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshire has been caught up in a street brawl during the early hours of Sunday morning.
A London West End nightspot, Cafe de Paris, was the location for the scenes of disorder around 2:15am. Wilshire, who has been recovering from a broken leg he suffered last August, denies any allegations of assault.
This is another PR disaster for the club, Wilshire was arrested outside a nightclub in 2010 and was caught on camera holding a shisha pipe at a London nightclub in 2015. Arsenal officials are understood to be less than impressed with Wilshire's behaviour and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to discuss the incident at the club's training ground on Monday morning.
A witness claimed that an apparently inebriated Wilshire became involved in a spat outside Cafe de Paris, he then stormed off to a nearby Bureau de Change, where he continued to argue with a fellow reveller who was attempting to film on his phone. Wilshire is said to have tried to cover his face with his jacket as he grew concerned members of the public were to attempting to film him. Jack Wilshire denies all allegations made against him.
This latest issue is a setback in Jack Wilshire's rehabilitation process following his broken leg last August, he is looking to get back into the Arsenal first team for the end of the season title challenge and put his name in the hat for Roy Hodgson's England Euro 2016 squad. The midfielder is back in training and was looking to playing in Arsenal's Under 21's face Newcastle Under 21's at the Emirates Stadium this Friday.
