Premier League: Aston Villa and Remi Garde part ways

 Football News 24/7

Remi Garde has left the Premier League's bottom side Aston Villa after twenty games in charge.

In a short statement, the club confirmed on their official website that, 'Rémi Garde, has today left Aston Villa Football Club by mutual consent.'

"The Club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Rémi for all his efforts during a difficult period and wish him well in the future."

Eric Black will take over as acting manager until the Club appoints a new manager.

Garde replaced Tim Sherwood earlier this season following his sacking, but managed to win only two of his 20 games in charge.

He leaves the club bottom of the Premier League and almost certainly facing relegation to the Championship, being 12 points adrift of safety.

Villa owner Randy Lerner said he was looking to sell the club earlier this season, and there have been a number of changes in the boardroom in recent months.
