Premier League: Aston Villa suspend Gabby Agbonlahor
Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor will miss Saturday's game against Chelsea at Villa Park.
The club are conducting an internal investigation into his conduct after he was pictured in Dubai during the international break, seemingly holding a shisha pipe.
It caps a tumultuous week for the club, with manager Remi Garde leaving the club by mutual consent on Tuesday. First-team coach Eric Black has taken over as acting manager until the club find a full-time replacement.
Agbonlahor, who has spent his entire career at Villa Park, making over 300 appearances, has only found the net once in the Premier League this season as part of a team that have imploded on and off the pitch.
Under Garde Villa won just two league games and they are 12 points adrift of safety going into their match with Chelsea this weekend.
The club have not given a clear indication on when they will appoint a new permanent manager, but it is believed that the club are waiting until their relegation is confirmed before choosing a replacement.
