Premier League: Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock fined £9,000 by the FA

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has been fined £9,000 by the FA for comments he made about a match official last month.

The comments in question suggested that the official refereeing his side's 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on 18 October, had been 'influenced' by Chelsea players during the match,

The 65 year old had a personal hearing on Tuesday, where the charges were upheld, and Warnock was warned about his future conduct.

An FA statement said: "Following an independent regulatory commission hearing, Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has been find £9,000 for misconduct in relation to post-match media comments."

"The FA alleged [Warnock's comments] implied the match referee was motivated by bias and/or brought the game into disrepute."

Warnock took over at Palace for a second time in August following the departure of Tony Pulis just two days before the start of the season.

His side are currently 17th in the table, only outside the relegation places due to a superior goal difference.
