Premier League: Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure to become Nissan ambassador

Japanese car company Nissan has announced that Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure will be an ambassador for its Uefa Champions League sponsorship.
The Ivorian joins PSG and Brazil defender Thiago Silva and Barcelona's Spanish midfielder Andres Iniesta as a participant in the carmaker's 'Engineers of Excitement' advertising campaign.
Nissan replaced Ford as the automotive partner of the Uefa Champions League in April, signing a four-year deal with European soccer's governing body.
Nissan's corporate vice president of marketing, communications and brand strategy, Roel de Vries, confirmed Toure's signing on Wednesday at the Leaders Sport Business Summit in London.
In addition to the Uefa Champions League, Nissan has also forged ties with Toure's Manchester City this year, through a five-year global sponsorship arrangement with City Football Group (CFG).
Toure scored his first goal of the season last weekend against Aston Villa, but speculation has been growing that he has become unsettled at the Premier League champions.
