Premier League record first transfer window profit
The transfer window sales have resulted in a profit for the Premier League for the first time, this is despite clubs spending the most in a January transfer window for six years with £215 million.
Figures have shown that Premier League sides received £40 million more than they paid out in transfers according to data from Deloitte.
The January 2017 spend is the second highest spent during a winter transfer window behind the record mark of £225m spent in 2011.
While the expenditure won't increase anymore due to the window now being closed for the major European leagues, there could still be more transfer income for clubs as the transfer deadline for big-spending China 28th February.
