Premier League side West Ham fined by FIFA but will stay in FA Cup
The reprimand relates to their FA Cup Fourth Round clash with Bristol City, when they brought on striker Diafra Sakho, who subsequently scored the winning goal to send the Hammers through.
However, West Ham had previously stated that Sakho had a back injury which meant he couldn't fly out to play for Senegal in the African Cup of Nations.
The Senegalese FA were angered that he played for his club just two days before his country were knocked out of the tournament, a match he perceivably could have taken part in.
West Ham however maintained that his injury prevented him from flying, but after a probe by FIFA, the governing body has found both the club and the player guilty of breaching rules regarding players on international duty.
In a statement by FIFA, they stated, "The club and the player have received the decision and will now be focusing their concentration on the game against Manchester United on Sunday."
