Premier League: Swansea beat Watford in first game after the arrival of a new head coach.
The experienced Italian, 60, arrived at the Liberty Stadium on Monday afternoon and had a watching brief at Monday night's Barclays Premier League 1-0 win over Watford where captain Ashley Williams scored in the first half.
Replacing previous manager Garry Monk, he will work alongside interim manager Alan Curtis until the end of the season, although Guidolin will have the final say on team selection.
Guidolin has led Udinese to third place in Serie A – recording their highest top-flight finish and points tally – and sealing their first Champions League campaign.
He also has three promotions on his CV with Parma, Palermo and Vicenza where he made his name after lifting the Italian Cup and leading them to the Cup Winners’ Cup semi-final, where they lost to Chelsea.
Swansea Chairman Huw Jenkins declared “We are very pleased with the appointment, his experience and knowledge will be a huge asset to the club.
Guidolin told the official club website, "At the moment it's not a good situation for the club, but we have a good team." Before going on to talk about current interim manager Alan Curtis, "Alan Curtis is a legend at Swansea, and this is important for me. He knows everything about the club."
Former Chelsea midfielder Gabriele Ambrosetti has joined Swansea's staff as coach following Guidolin's arrival.
