Raheem Strerling looks set for Liverpool return as Man City deal pending

Despite Manchester City's intense interest in the 20-year-old England international Raheem Sterling, the Guardian reports that Liverpool are expecting the forward back at preseason training on Monday morning.

What's more, Sterling faces the prospect of travelling to Thailand with Brendan Rodgers' squad next Sunday for the club's preseason tour of the Far East and Australia should Manchester City fail to make a £50 million offer.

But, according to the Daily Telegraph, he has an "unusual" arrangement with his agent Aidy Ward whereby he will pocket up to 50 percent of the middle man's fee. The paper suggests that, should the 20-year-old go for £50 million, he could earn a cool £4 million for himself as well as substantial salary increase.

Sterling has angered some Liverpool fans by making it clear he wants to move on despite having two years left on his contract. He might not get the best of receptions if he does take to the field before the season starts given his obvious preference to go to City.
