Rochdale Announce New CEO
Rochdale have announced the appointment of Laura Thomas
as Chief Executive Officer.
Laura joins the Club ahead of this weekend’s title decider
against York City and will bring a strong track record in sports leadership and
marketing.
Co-Chair Cameron Ogden commented: “After an extensive search
and interview process, we are delighted to welcome Laura to the Football Club
as our new CEO.
“Laura has extensive leadership experience at multiple
organisations, including the world-renowned British Cycling.
“She will focus on continuing to drive the club forward and
help bring to life Project 5,000, which is one of many projects we want to
achieve over the coming years.”
Laura added: “I’m thrilled to be joining Rochdale AFC at
such an exciting time for the club.
“What draws me here is something that you can’t manufacture:
owners with a genuine connection to the town, a fanbase that cares deeply, and
a team that is proving what’s possible on the pitch.
“I’m proud to be joining the club’s leadership at this
moment and committed to helping build on everything that makes Rochdale AFC
unique.”
Laura is a senior commercial and marketing professional with
over two decades of experience, spanning sportswear and clothing at Kukri
Sports and Banner, marketing and commercial roles at British Cycling, and, most
recently, as an MD in the creative industry. She is also a trustee for a
homelessness charity.
Managing Director Andy Duff will oversee a handover period
before stepping down at the end of the current campaign
