Rotherham expected to welcome 1,000,000th visitor to New York Stadium

Rotherham United expect to welcome their one millionth fan through the AESSEAL New York Stadium turnstiles before their match against Yorkshire rivals Leeds United.

The 1,000,000th supporter is expected to make their way through the turnstiles before this weekends match against Leeds. The milestone includes every competitive game played at the ASSEAL New York Stadium which opened in 2012. However, supporters that attended England women’s and youth internationals or any friendlies played by Rotherham aren't included in the total.

An announcement will be made on the clubs website to inform  the lucky, millionth supporter, that they have won a meal in one of the lounges at AESSEAL New York Stadium for themselves plus one guest for the game against Queens Park Rangers in December.

In addition to this, they will be presented with a special commemorative framed shirt to mark the milestone.

Chief Operating Officer Paul Douglas told the club website "I would like to thank every single supporter that has come through the turnstiles and shown their support to the club since the stadium opened in 2012.”

He added “It is fantastic to be celebrating a landmark like this after just four years at the stadium and is a testament to the level of support that the club has received in recent years."
