Salford City announce new CEO as part of new leadsership structure
Salford City Football Club have announced the appointment of Gavin Fleig as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Fleig will be joining the Club from City Football Group effective from the 1st October 2025.
His selection came following an extensive interview process with Club co-chairs and ownership group members.
Speaking on the club's official website Fleig said: “I couldn’t be more excited to join Salford City FC at such an important moment.
“This Club is entering a new chapter with clear determination and huge untapped potential. We want to build a Club that competes fearlessly, first and foremost on the pitch, and extending throughout our business and community efforts to grow in the right way, with our dedicated fanbase at the heart of everything we do.”
Salford City Co-Chairs Declan Kelly and Lord Mervyn Davies added: "We are thrilled to welcome Gavin Fleig to Salford City Football Club. His proven record of leadership, player development, and shared ambition for success perfectly align with our vision for the club.
“His commitment to driving both competitive football and commercial sustainability will be instrumental as we push towards the next level of growth for Salford City."
Co-owner Gary Neville said: “Gavin is exactly the kind of leader we’ve been looking for – strategic, passionate, and forward-thinking. His belief in the Club’s potential is only matched by his determination to make things happen. We’ve got big goals at Salford City, and with Gavin at the helm, we’re confident we can deliver on them.”
The club also confirmed that Jonathan Jackson will revert back to his role as Chief Finance Officer.
