Scotland suffer Euro 2016 qualifcation blow after defeat to Georgia

Scotland missed a chance to temporarily move above Germany after a 1-0 loss away to Georgia.

It was a poor performance from the Scots who went into the match full of optimism, but in reality created few chances to respond to to Valeri Kazaishvili's first half goal

Gordon Strachan's men were only two points behind World Champions Germany, and a further point behind group leaders Poland, who face off against each other later this evening.

But after defeat in Georgia not only could they fall further behind the top two, but with the Republic of Ireland playing group whipping boys Gibraltar tonight, Scotland will find themselves in fourth place.

The disappointment of Scotland's performance is a stark contrast to the jubilation of the Welsh side, who all but sealed qualfication last night with victory over Cyprus.
