Scottish fixtures announced with SPL champions Celtic taking on Ross County

Celtic will begin their Scottish Premiership title defence with a home game against Ross County.

Newly promoted Hearts start their return to the top flight at home to St Johnstone in the first round of games on 1 August.

Jackie McNamara's Dundee United host Aberdeen in an opening-day New Firm derby at Tannadice.

The Championship kicks off a week later as Rangers face St Mirren, while Hibernian host Dumbarton.

In the other opening-day fixtures in the top flight, Hamilton take on Partick Thistle, Kilmarnock host Dundee and Inverness CT face Motherwell.

The fixtures were revealed as Scottish Professional Football League announced the 2015-16 fixtures for its four divisions.

SPF chief executive Neil Doncaster said: "Today is a key moment in the Scottish football calendar when supporters of all 42 clubs look ahead to a new season with great anticipation, excitement and hope."
