Scottish Football: Rangers on the brink of promotion back to top flight
Rangers could seal their return to the Scottish Premier League tonight with a win against Dumbarton.
The Glasgow side have had to fight their way back from the Third Division since they were demoted to the Third Division in 2012 after going into administration.
They have been plagued by legal issues over the running of the club in subsequent years despite being promoted twice to get to the Scottish Championship.
Last year however the club's off field issues were resolved and the boardroom reestablished.
Ally McCoist, who had stayed on as manager following the demotion, decided to leave the club last season as their bid to be promoted for three years running faltered.
Former Brentford manager was brought in as his permanent replacement and has guided the Ibrox club to the top of the Scottish Championship, as well as the final of the Scottish Challenge Cup.
They will also take on their Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-finals at Hampden Park a week on Sunday.
