Sheffield FC and Joma confirm shirt partnership deal

Sheffield FC have signed a partnership agreement with sportswear specialist Joma Sport for the 160th birthday of the world first club and the upcoming 2017/18 season.

The launch for the home and away shirt has been set to begin from June 2017 whilst a special edition heritage shirt will be released on October 24th to celebrate the 160th birthday of #theworldsfirst. The shirts will be sponsored by Classic Football Shirts. The kit will be based on the earliest known kit designs of Sheffield FC, taking fans right back to roots of 1857.

Aside from kit collections, the partnership will also advance marketing initiatives worldwide such as the Club of Pioneers, a network of the oldest football clubs from each country.

Sheffield FC will join over 300 Joma represented clubs which includes the likes of Swansea City, Espanyol & Villareal.

Sheffield FC Chairman, Richard Tims was particularly excited about the partnership stating, “We’re delighted to work with Joma to take our unique history and brand identity out to the world. Our sponsorship with Classic Football Shirts was labelled “one of the coolest shirt sponsoring partnerships in recent history” so adding Joma to the shirt will be special. Our 160th birthday is just five months away and we’re currently involved in a number of international projects making it a great time for fans to get involved & support football’s first club”.

Danny Taylor from Classic Football Shirts added, “We’re extremely proud to partnering up with The World’s oldest football club and sports brand Joma. We all share very similar values and a passion for protecting the heritage of football. This is truly a unique collaboration that will help maintain the sustainability of the World’s first football club” Ian Ralph, Joma Brand Manager confirmed, “This really is an exciting partnership, we have been discussing this working collaboration for some time and the enthusiasm for the project is testimony to all those involved”.
