Shock departure of Blackburn Rovers MD Derek Shaw
Only a day after selling want away striker Jordan Rhodes to Middlesbrough for an initial £12 million Blackburn Rovers part company with their top executive.
In an official statement the club said: 'Blackburn Rovers can confirm that Managing Director Derek Shaw has left the club with immediate effect.
'Due to ongoing other business interests Mr Shaw has found combining the two roles too time-consuming and difficult going forward.
'The club wishes Mr Shaw all the best for the future'
Shaw, who joined Rovers in 2012 having previously been Preston North End Chairman, has been instrumental in re-establishing the club's reputation, which in many eyes was damaged by owners, the Venkey family, when they first took over the club.
The club, 18th in the Championship were only recently lifted from a transfer embargo, and it will be interesting to se who takes over.
