It might be bad news on the pitch at the moment but off it there is some good news for Oxford United. The club have extended their sponsorship agreement with Motors.co.uk.

The online car classified site will continue to support the League Two club’s youth teams as well as its women’s team. It will also remain a supporter of a coaching programme at local schools.

The renewal follows an initial five-month trial period which the club described as ‘successful’ in a statement released on Thursday.

“We are very pleased to renew this important partnership,” said Tony Davison, United’s commercial director. “Motors.co.uk will continue working with the Oxford United Community Trust to deliver positive social change through football.

“Every primary school in Abingdon will be offered free professional football coaching along with education on the importance of an active lifestyle, all of which would not be possible without the support of Motors.co.uk.”

Oxford lost their opening four league games of the season but obtained their first point with a 3-3 draw with dagenham on saturday.
