Southampton assistant manager the latest name in the corruption investigation
Eric Black, the Southampton assistant manager, is the latest person to be named in the Telegraphs football4sale investigation.
The Telegraph claim that Black offered advice on how to bribe club officials from other clubs in the lower leagues. The allegation is that he named staff at other clubs who could be tempted to pass on player information to a company in return for a fee. The payments that the club staff would receive would be against FA rules.
In an undercover recording Black was recorded as saying "it doesn't take too much to get these people involved." He added "they won't have an awful lot of money."
Eric Black has denied the allegations and Southampton have confirmed that they are "fully committed to working alongside the FA and Premier League to investigate the claims made against Eric Black."
