Southport link with Action For Children for new programme

Southport FC has joined forces with leading UK charity `Action for Children` to launch ‘Parents on the Ball’, an innovative and fun community programme which will equip participants in Sefton with new parenting skills and confidence.

The new programme, will offer carers from Southport and the surrounding areas the opportunity to learn about healthy living within a twelve week course.

'Action for Children' works in local communities across the UK to help support children, young people and their families.

“We believe that sports clubs like Southport FC are very much at the heart of their community, contributing to the health, well-being and self-esteem of young people and parents across Merseyside and beyond. We’re very proud to partner with Southport FC to further our vision to improve the lives of young people and families. We look forward to developing this innovative partnership in the forthcoming months.” John Egan, director of children's services.

This programme adds to the range of Action for Children partnerships within National League football clubs.
