Star of Preston's 1964 FA Cup team George Ross dies at 73

George Ross, who played over 380 games for Preston North End has died at the age of 73.

An active member of the Club's Former Players association, Ross was until recently a regular feature in the hospitality suites at Deepdale on a match day..

Ross began with Preston as a junior and after making his debut for them in the early 1960s, and during the early 1970s, Ross left to join Southport and played 31 league games for them in Football League Division Four.

During April 2009, Ross was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement award by Preston.
