Stoke end Gary Rowett's 8 month reign as boss
The former Burton and Birmingham manager has been sacked by Championship side Stoke City. The club had hoped to bounce straight back into the Premier League. The club made a statement regarding Rowett's departure.
“The club would like to thank Gary and his staff for their efforts over the past eight months. A new managerial appointment will be made as swiftly as possible but in the meantime Rory Delap, Kevin Russell and Andy Quy will take charge of first-team affairs.”
The Bet 365 club are swiftly looking to fill the vacancy and are in talks with League One Luton Town boss Nathan Jones.
Luton made a brief statement that they "granted permission to Stoke City to speak to Nathan Jones" and would "update supporters on any further developments in due course"
The final straw for Rowett appeared to come with the 2-0 home defeat to Bristol City.
