Sunderland out of relegation zone after draw with Arsenal

 Football News 24/7

Sunderland, who still have a game in hand over relegation rivals Norwich and Newcastle United are out of the bottom three for now.

The North East side fought out a scoreless draw with Arsenal at the Stadium of Light on Sunday and the point garnered was enough to take them above Norwich, who Sunderland beat 3-1 last week, on goal difference.

Both sides have 31 points, one point ahead of Newcastle who drew 2-2 with Liverpool on Saturday after being two-nil down at half-time. Newcastle have played 35 games to the 34 games played by their two rivals.

Bizarrely, Sunderland face the four sides in 9th, 10th 11th and 12th in the current table in Chelsea, Stoke, Everton and Watford.
