The FA to trial 'sin-bins'

The Football Association will commence a trial of 'sin bins' from next season.

The FA plan to introduce "temporary dismissals" in step seven divisions and below. Step seven is six tiers below the National League.

The "temporary dismissals" will only apply to yellow cards shown for dissent. Any player shown a yellow card for dissent will have to leave the pitch for 10 minutes.

The trial will also be done in Sunday League and male and female youth football.

Over 1,000 clubs have received emails to ask if they are willing to be part of the pilot process.

Clubs are normally fined £10 for each yellow card but the FA will not be charging this administration fee for the teams that participate.

Step seven is the bottom level of the National League System in England.
