The tenth annual Mascot Gold Cup is not far away, and there are still plenty of spaces available for Football Clubs

The world's largest mascot race, the Mascot Gold Cup sponsored by Foresters, returns to Wetherby Race Course and Conference Centre on their Family Day race meeting, Sunday 26th April 2015.
This is the 10th anniversary Mascot Gold Cup and organisers Sue Ryder are hoping that they can get event more mascots than before to continue their incredible care for those with incurable illness.
Mascots first take part in the Mascot Parade where punters can place their bets on their favourites, then there is a one minute mascot warm up before the race itself. Mascots run the final furlong in front of the cheering grandstands, that's 220 yards and negotiating 6 small fences.
Mascots from Football League clubs such as Swindon and Mansfield are already signed up to race, but there is still time for mascots to get themselves signed up and take part for a great cause.
Entries are now open you can register now for the Mascot Gold Cup or contact Andrew Wood on 01535 640176 for a paper application form. As we know many mascots have no budget for entry fees we will happily accept signed club merchandise (football, club shirt etc) that we can raffle/sell in lieu of the entry fee. Mascots will be sent a complimentary race day pass for themselves and one for a helper. Each mascot can purchase unlimited extra tickets at half price rate if ordered in advance and accompanied children 17 and under are admitted free.
As well as offering a fast and furious Flat Racing card and the hilarious mascot parade, warm-up session and mascot race, Family Day also offers FREE family entertainment in the Centre of Course Enclosure including The National Festival Circus, Inflatable Fun, Petting Farm and hugely popular Barrel Train. Additional charged for attractions are also available such as fun-fair rides and face painting.
Entry costs £40 (or alternatively signed club merchandise (football, club shirt etc) that we can raffle/sell in lieu of the entry fee), and includes 2 complimentary passes to the Wetherby Race course family race day (Children 17 and under enter free with an accompanying adult).
