Tony Pulis set to manage his 1000th game against former club Stoke City
Saturday will mark the 1000th time that Tony Pulis takes charge of a team when West Brom take on his former club, Stoke City.
Pulis began his managerial 24 years ago when managing Bournemouth in an away match against Preston. Since then he has managed 8 different teams with 3 of them being in the Premier League, his most successful spell was with Stoke City where he has 2 spells. During this spell he got Stoke promoted to the Premier League and established them as a Premier League club as well as being FA Cup runner up in 2011.
It is fitting that he should manage his 1000th game against a club where nearly half of them games took place. When talking about the match being against Stoke Pulis said "You couldn't have scripted it better to be honest, the fact that I'm going back to Stoke, it's fantastic. Whichever way the result goes, my 1,000th game will be at Stoke and I had great times there."
