Tottenham confirm they will play at Wembley next season
Tottenham have confirmed they play their home matches at Wembley next season while their new stadium is being completed.
The club have originally postponed the decision and they wanted to assurances that the new stadium would be ready for the start of the 2018/19 season. The club had already started plans
The club said: "We can confirm that, following a board meeting today, we've taken the decision to activate our option with Wembley National Stadium Limited."
Chairman Daniel Levy said "The Lane means a huge amount to each and every one of us and we needed to gain greater certainty on the delivery of a new stadium before we made the final decision to commence with the decommissioning of our iconic, historic home for some 118 years."
He added "We shall ensure that we give the Lane a fitting when we play our last match her on May 14". The last match to take place at White Hart Lane will be against Manchester United where the club have already started plans to commemorate the stadium with a commemorative documentary programme about the clubs time at White Hart Lane already commissioned.
