Tottenham get worst of Champions League draw

Tottenham face a 'Group of Death' after being drawn against Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, with Apoel Nicosia making up the numbers in Group H.

They will also be playing home games at wembley as they did without success last season.

Manchester United have been handed a relatively kind start to their Champions League campaign after drawing Benfica, FC Basel and CSKA Moscow in the group stages.

Similarly Liverpool, who have been missing from Europe’s elite competition for two seasons, face one of the easier groups alongside Spartak Moscow, Sevilla and Slovenian side Maribor.

Manchester City fans will face a long trip to Ukraine to play Shakhtar Donetsk, as well as tricky ties against Napoli and Feyenoord. But can take haert from the fact that Group F has thrown up more recent winners than any other.

While Chelsea will take on Atletico Madrid, Roma and Qarabag in Group C.

The Europa League appears to be the best Celtic can hope for after being handed a very difficult draw against Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-German and Anderlecht.

Six British teams entered the Champions League group stage this year with Celtic and Liverpool joining Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Manchester United  after their wins in the play-offs.
