Dave Mackay died in hospital after illness on Monday at the age of 80, and his passing has seen tributes from across football from former players and fans alike.

Spurs will hold a minute's applause before their match with Swansea this evening in his memory.

Mackay moved from Scottish football to north London in 1959, and was part of Spurs' famous double winning side, winning the league and FA Cup in 1961.

He also played for Brian Clough at Derby at the end of his career, and even managed them to a League title after Clough's departure.

His influence on Scottish football has also been felt as his fellow countrymen, the likes of Craig Brown and Sir Alex Ferguson, paid tribute to one of the greats of his time.

As well as paying respects to Mackay, Spurs will also be looking to get back to winning ways after being rocked by two cup defeats in the last week.

They were eliminated from the Europa League by Fiorentina last Thursday, and then lost the League Cup final to rivals Chelsea on Sunday.
