Wales meet rep of Ireland in World Cup decider

The script writers have got a dream fixture in World Cup qualifying Group with Wales facing the Rep of Ireland in a shoot out for World Cup qualification.

The doom mongers were out in force ahead of Wales game with Georgia. But Chris Coleman's side secured a vital win.

There were some nervy moments, especially in the dying stages, but Wales are were delighted as they left the pitch in Tblisi. It wasn’t an easy game against awkward opponents and there were times when they needed a bit of luck, but a cracking goal from Tom Lawrence means that Wales have a firm grip on second place in Group D now.

Serbia failed to beat Austria and the group is wide open. If Serbia fail to beat Gergia and Wales beat Ireland - Wales can still win the group.

But, if Martin O'Neil's Ireland beat Wales - they could win or finish second leaving Wales in the lurch. Ireland with be without Seamus Coleman and with home advantage the Welsh - 11/10 best price are favourites, with Ireland 11/5. With Serbia 1/7 to beat Georgia both Wales and Ireland have to assume they are playing for second spot and a play-off place.
