West Brom announce back room shake up

West Bromwich Albion have announced the departures of Terry Burton and Mervyn Day in a major shake-up of their recruitment department.

The move would seem to suggest a strengthening of Tony Pulis' position, although Albion are in no mood to rush into replacing the outgoing pair.

Sixty-two-year-old Burton joined Albion as Technical Director 13 months ago replacing previous Technical Director Richard Garlick.

Day, 60, was appointed Head of Recruitment in July 2014.

A statement on the club’s website read; “As part of the on-going review of the Club’s performance, notice has been given to terminate their contracts and they have been put on ‘garden leave’ with immediate effect.”
