Wigan, Millwall and Rotherham fight out relegation scrap
![]() |
The Latics were losing to play-off hopefuls Wolves, whilst relegation rivals Millwall had a two goal cushion at home to Derby and Rotherham, like Wigan were losing.
But Derby cam back to level the match at 3-3 and that result saw Wigan reprieved for now. Rotherham, who were in the bottom three with Wigan and relegated Blackpool, climbed out after a late leveller in the game against promotion seeking Norwich.
Rotherham have already lost three points having played an ineligible player and the Football League sanction looked set to push them towards relegation. Wigan need to win their last game and hope Millwall and Rotherham lose by sufficient goals to enable the Latics to stay up on goal difference. It looks a tall order.
Especially as Rotherham have two games including a home fixture with Reading. Wigan face play-off chasing Brentford and Millwall Wolves who are like Brentford just outside the top six in their final match.
