Championship: Huddersfield sack head coach Danny Schofield

Huddersfield town have sacked Head Coach Danny Schofield after losing 2-1 at home to Wigan Athletic on Tuesday evening.

Schofield took the position in the summer having been part of previous manager Carlos Corberan's backroom team.

Corberan resigned in July having taken the Terriers to the play-off finals last season where they were beaten by Nottingham Forest.

Huddersfield lost several key players from that team in the transfer window and Schofield oversaw seven defeats from his nine matches in charge.

The club currently sit 23rd in the Championship table and are five points adrift of safety.
