Championship: Sheffield United complete development of Shirecliffe training ground

Sheffield United have completed works on their Shirecliffe training ground.

After work commenced during the summer on the main first team training pitch, the club has confirmed a £2m upgrade of major improvements has been completed.

The main pitch has been re-laid and levelled, matching the Desso surface currently used at Bramall Lane, whilst the upgrade also includes improved drainage and the installation of undersoil heating as part of a significant commitment to enhancing the facilities at our training headquarters.

Following the return of the first team staff after a mini-break, Paul Heckingbottom has presided over training on the new surface.

The latest improvements continue the club’s commitment to developing the infrastructure across all areas of the footprint which have included brand new club offices for the staff at Bramall Lane, increased attention towards the women’s team, the acquirement of additional and vital memorabilia within the Legends of the Lane museum and the hosting of some the world’s major sporting events, including the women’s Euros and the Rugby League World Cup.
