Hull City Win Appeal to Reduce Transfer Fee Ban

Hull City have had their transfer fee restrictions reduced after a successful appeal against an EFL ruling.

The Championship club were originally hit with a three-window ban in July for late payments owed to other clubs. Following the appeal, that punishment has been cut to two windows, with one of those suspended.

It means Hull will now be able to pay transfer fees again in the summer 2026 window, though they remain restricted for the upcoming January market.

In a statement, the club reassured supporters that recruitment options remain available: “As we have demonstrated in recent weeks, we still remain able to sign players – either on loan or as free agents. We want to take this moment to sincerely thank all our fans for their unwavering support during these challenging times.”
