London to host first ever Women's Champions Cup
London will stage the final matches of the inaugural Women’s Champions Cup early next year, FIFA has confirmed.
The new competition, which mirrors the format of the men’s former Club World Cup, brings together champions from across the continents. Four matches will take place in London between 28 January and 1 February, including two semi-finals, a third-place play-off, and the final. The exact venue is yet to be announced.
Arsenal, winners of last season’s Women’s Champions League, will represent Europe and enter at the semi-final stage. The Gunners will face the team that emerges from a series of play-off matches between the champions of Asia, Africa and Oceania.
Asian champions Wuhan Jiangda host Oceania winners Auckland United in China this month, with the victor meeting the African champions in December. The winner of that tie will go on to face Arsenal.
The other semi-final will see North American champions NJ/NY Gotham take on the winners of the women’s Copa Libertadores.
FIFA also confirmed that the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will take place between 17 March and 3 April. The timing means the competition will run alongside the Women’s Super League season, with two rounds of WSL fixtures scheduled during that period.
