Snoop Dogg Joins Swansea City Ownership Group in Surprise Move to Championship Club
Swansea City has announced a striking new addition to its ownership group, as global rap icon Snoop Dogg has taken a minority stake in the Championship side.
The 53-year-old American artist, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, made headlines last weekend after appearing as the model for the Swans' new 2025–26 home kit. Now, the club has confirmed his official involvement as a co-owner and investor.
“My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City,” said Snoop Dogg in a statement released by the club. “This is a proud, working-class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me. I'm proud to be part of Swansea City.”
Snoop Dogg’s entry into club ownership follows in the footsteps of Real Madrid and Croatia legend Luka Modric, who joined the Swansea ownership group in April before his recent transfer to AC Milan. Both figures have come on board under the leadership of American businessmen Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen, who took control of the club in a takeover late last year.
Club officials described the rapper’s investment as part of a wider strategy to expand Swansea’s global profile and commercial potential. “Snoop's colossal global fanbase and audience will certainly help us do that,” read a statement from Cravatt and Cohen. “He has made clear to us throughout this process just how excited he is at the prospect of joining the club.”
Snoop Dogg is understood to have connected with the ownership group through mutual contacts, and has committed to supporting the club’s ambitions both on and off the field.
The move marks a bold new chapter for the South Wales side, which is targeting a return to the Premier League while complying with profit and sustainability regulations. Swansea hopes the star power of one of the world’s most recognisable entertainers can help boost international exposure, sponsorship opportunities, and fan engagement.
