Switzerland vs Norway sets Attendance Record

Wednesday’s UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 match between Switzerland and Norway set a new attendance record for a women’s football game in Switzerland.

34,063 fans packed St. Jakob-Park in Basel for the host country’s first game of the tournament. Norway went on to win the match 2-1.

Earlier in the day, Finland secured a 1-0 win over 10-player Iceland in the opening match at Stockhorn Arena. The game welcomed an attendance of 7,683.

Over  600,000 tickets have been sold for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, which is on track to becoming a record-breaking event beating the record set in the 2022 tournament held in England with a total attendance just under 575,000.

Reigning champions England will get their campaign underway when they face France on Saturday.
