Exeter City Launch £100,000 Fundraiser After Fire Damages Key Matchday Facilities at St James Park

Exeter City Supporters' Trust has launched an appeal to raise £100,000 to help repair significant damage caused by a recent fire at St James Park.

The blaze, which broke out last week, destroyed the stadium’s control room and first-aid room and caused smoke damage to the newly constructed Adam Stansfield Stand. The control room, essential for matchday safety operations, must be fully restored ahead of next Saturday’s League One fixture against Burton Albion.

Exeter City, a supporter-owned club currently sitting 18th in League One and unbeaten in five matches across all competitions, now face substantial short-term financial pressures to ensure the stadium meets safety requirements.

In a statement, the Supporters' Trust said the funds will help cover the removal and replacement of buildings and equipment critical to matchday operations. Because the insurance claims process may take time, the club requires immediate financial support to cover urgent costs and any unforeseen expenses.

The Trust added that once the insurance outcome is confirmed, it will decide how any remaining funds should be used. Supporters were encouraged to contribute whatever they can to help ensure St James Park remains a source of pride for the city and to keep the club moving forward.
