Championship side Blackburn Rovers have confirmed that they are being sued by their kit manufacturer Macron over a contractual dispute.

The Italian brand have been providing teamwear for the Lancashire club since entering into a five-year partnership in 2021.

Rovers said in a brief statement on Thursday that it had 'been served court papers by its technical kit partner Macron, in relation to a contractual dispute.'

The statement went on to say that the matter is being dealt with by the club's legal team.

Club officials confirmed earlier in the season that they would be moving forward with a new kit supplier in the summer when their deal with Macron ends having started a tender process.

Blackburn are currently 21st in the Championship and point from safety, welcoming high-flying Hull City to Ewood Park this weekend.
