Peter Ridsdale Joins PNE Board

Preston North End have confirmed the appointment of Peter Ridsdale as the club's new director.

Ridsdale had previously been working under the title of owners' representative, a position he's occupied since 2012 after stepping down from his role as chairman.

His appointment emerges after Ridsdale's directorship disqualification, received in 2012, had now expired.

The 69-year-old was disqualified from acting as a company director for seven and a half years after his sports consultancy collapsed in 2009.

The disqualification prevented Ridsdale from acting as a director, but also from taking part - directly or indirectly - in the promotion, formation or management of a company.

That ban expired in April 2020 and Ridsdale has now been confirmed as North End's director, signed off by owner Trevor Hemmings and published on the Companies House website.

According to Lancs Live 'his appointment is likely to allow Ridsdale greater authority but the change in title is not expected to have any impact on the club's current hierarchy.'
