Plymouth Argyle Announce New CEO
Plymouth Argyle have confirmed the appointment of Paul Berne as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Berne, 51, will officially take up the role on 1 January following the departure of Andrew Parkinson. He has been a member of the Argyle board since 2019 and previously served as CEO of Trewithen Dairy. His career also includes senior finance and operations roles at Ginsters, Samworth Brothers, Well Pharmacy and the Co-operative Group.
Chairman Simon Hallett welcomed the appointment, describing Berne as a “valued board member” who would bring “freshness and energy” to the club.
Berne said it was a “privilege” to step into the role:
“Having been involved at board level since 2019, I’ve seen first-hand the transformation under Andrew’s leadership. Now I have the opportunity to continue that work and help Argyle realise its ambitions to be a sustainable Championship club.”
Although his tenure officially begins in January, Berne will begin transitioning immediately while the club’s executive team manages day-to-day operations.
