Steve Curwood Departs Fleetwood Town to Become Blackburn Rovers CEO
Blackburn Rovers have appointed Steve Curwood as the club’s
new chief executive officer following the departure of Steve Waggott.
Curwood will officially begin his role on 1 July, succeeding
Waggott, who leaves the club after seven years in the position.
The experienced executive joins from Fleetwood Town, where
he spent 18 years working in a variety of senior roles. During his time at the
League Two club, he also served on the English Football League board.
Speaking after his appointment, Curwood said he was
“delighted” to be joining Blackburn Rovers, describing the club as one with a
proud history and a passionate fanbase. He added that he is looking forward to
getting started in the role.
