Farsley Celtic taken over by former Fulham and Brighton goalkeeper
David Stockdale, the former Premier League goalkeeper who made over 500 career appearances, has taken over Farsley Celtic with his family.
The Yorkshire based side were recently relegated four divisions due to ongoing financial issues and not having a secure venue to host their matches, and will be starting next season in the Northern Counties East League.
Stockdale had been brought in initially as a manager of the club but has now confirmed that he along with his family have purchased the club in it's entirety.
A statement on the club's official website read-
'The club can confirm that the Stockdale family has agreed with the major shareholders to acquire 100% of FC 2010 (Holdings) Ltd.
The formal completion of the purchase is subject to final legal technicalities.
The club will provide further updates in due course.'
